Sass and Bide have just released their new Spring/Fall 2009 collection, named "The New Grace".

Some gorgeous, must-have pieces in this collection, and there are many pieces i have my eye on! I think there is more in this collection than the last that I actually want to purchase and put in my wardrobe.

The Perfect Rush Dress - This is my fave!!

The Almost Moon Strapless Dress - Gorgeous but being mini probably will be far too long on me..

Keep The Faith Frill Leggings - It doesn't get much cuter than this.. I MUST have these!!

Around the World Pleated Jacket - My friend has this gorgeous sass and bide frill that i love and am obsessed with, i really want this so i have my own! Could go with so many outfits.. Betting this one is quite pricey though...

Total Eclipse Tank Dress - This looks awesome, is that beading on the front?? Definitely will be getting this or any of the other similar items, hot design!

I've checked with the paddo store and they haven't got any of these pieces in yet - hopefully they will soon!

sass & bide Exhibition Warehouse Sale

This is on now at Fox Studios! Get in quick!
Normally s&b sales are quite average, with all the fashion pieces disappearing within 2 mins and then just loads of jeans left at still quite high prices (no good for me considering i'm not much of a jeans person). This sale, however, is a different story.

I went yesterday, got there about 4:05pm, and although there were thousands of girls elbowing and pushing around anything with a sequin, there were lots of nice dresses and items with really reasonable prices!

I picked up 4 dresses at $270 total, which is a steal considering one of them alone would cost upwards of $200 originally!

Pics of my haul...

The Awakening Tunic - $70

In His Own Way Singlet Dress - $50

Dark of The Night Dress - $80

Say It Right Bowed Dress - $70 (RRP - $240)

Spotted - Black Rats knock offs

I went into Supre at lunch today to get some plain white singlets - and i saw lots of sass and bide knock offs.. most noticeable of which were leggings that looked suspiciously like black rats!

So those looking for similar satin-like leggings with ruching down the sides (but don't want to pay the hefty price tag) head to supre and pick some up dirt cheap.

They also had some black on black leopard print ones that were a bit shiny, as well as lots of different colours like gold and red.

Can also shop online here.

sass and bide PVC BLACK RATS now available

sass and bide have recently unleashed their PVC black rats on the world.
Now these are slightly different to the first ones, with more of a "wet look", where as the old ones looked sort of satiny.

Anywho- you can get em for $220 on the sass and bide website, or at mycatwalk.

sass and bide "Take Me There" Dress

I bought this cute new dress from s&b vie over the weekend, it's called "Take Me There" Oversized Dress and is from the new resort 2008 collection called "The Spirit Kiss".

I couldn't really take any decent pics, but you get the idea from the below.

Again, sorry for crappy pics but use your imagination, i'll get some better ones when i wear it out and about.

It really is a nice dress, i am usually pretty against animal prints as i think they look 99% of the time horrible and tacky. This dress however, i think is cute and fun and perfect for summer, and i can tell i will be getting a lot of wear out of it in the coming months!

After my initial viewing of the upcoming collection on the sass and bide website i was left pretty underawed.. but as i see the pieces starting to come into store i am really growing to like them! They are a lot less "showy" than some of the pieces we saw with the rainbows for kate collection, and just seem really nicely subdued and sweet. I especially liked this white dress that had teeny dots of silver glitter all over it, so sweet and subtle, but had a $350 price tag so might be one to watch out for come sale time!

I'll be looking out for the "Far Below" sleveless dress,

and also the "In Her Mind" dress...

What I've been wearing - #1

So I thought I'd do a little outfit post, even though it's not the best pic, can't see my shoes! But it is a good starting point at least.

Here I am in what is probably my best buy so far this year, my sass and bide "Elle Lui Fitted Dress". I got this on sale for like $120 from David Jones when it was something like $260 full price and have worn it heaps! It is definitely a great dress as it goes with a wide range of occassions because it isn't too dressy.

Not much else to mention really, tiffany necklace and a glassons cardi.

sass and bide "I'm From Ohio" Dress

Last week to my delight I had a phone call from a lovely lass at the Paddington sass and bide boutique, informing me that they had finally received the long awaited "I'm from Ohio" dress.

I have been looking forward to getting this dress for ages, since seeing it in pictures from their runway show at RAFW earlier in the year. It looks absolutely stunning on the model, as you can see in the picture below.

So as soon as she told me the dress had come in I was keen to go in store and buy it ASAP! Unfortunately there was no way I could get to the paddington boutique and since the dress was in such high demand, they couldn't hold it for me :(

Come Saturday I was almost bursting at the seams to go get my hands on the dress, but since ot takes me like an hour to get there i thought i would ring and check if they had any left in my size. Luckily, there was one left and the lovely sales chickie said she would hold it for a couple of hours for me!

I ended up getting a size 38 - which is equivalent to a size 8. My normal size in s&b is 10, but the dress does not have a lot of shape so i decided to go down a size so the dress was more fitted.

Here are some pics of me in the dress, couldn't take any really good full length ones, but here is one...

And here are some pics of the sequin detail...

A week on I am a bit undecided as to whether to keep this dress or sell it. I am yet to wear it... I love the sequin detail, but don't think the actual shape is wonderfully flattering on me, but would suit someone taller to a tee.

What do you guys think?

Verdict - sass and bide BLACK RATS

The sass and bide "black rats" leggings have been hotly anticipated since appearing on their recent runway shows. They are being sold as "the skinny jean meets leggings".

I have always been a strong believer of the "leggings are NOT PANTS" mentality, but even i could picture myself in these!

After spying pictures such as this ->

I couldn't help but develop an unhealthy yearning for these babies!

Soon after seeing them and beginning to fall in love mycatwalk.com.au had them on preorder and i was straight on the site ordering away!

The following days and weeks was a rollercoaster ride of anticipation and also worry, as more and more information on the black rats unfolded on the vogue forums.

My lust for the leggings started to fade as we realised these were not really the "leather look" we had been hoping for but more of a satiny
swimsuit material. I decided to wait for their arrival before making my own mind up about them.

Finally they arrived in my office mailbox yesterday, and i had to resist the temptation to run to the bathroom then and there to try them on!
But sensibility prevailed and i waited until i got home so i could try them on with heels and all the appropriate trimmings (as well as having the safety of my own mirror at home and not having to worry about people walking in on me!)

Now bear in mind i am 5'2" and although in my opinion i have pretty skinny legs I am still a large size 10 so ordered a M/L knowing how small s&b pants can be!

All things considered i knew i wouldn't look as good as the models on the runway or Bryanboy but i still had high hopes they would be effortlessly chic and rock star sexy.

First impressions were that they are gorgeously soft material, a really soft almost microfibre material, with a satiny sheen and a hell of a lot of ruching.
Popped them on and had the obligatory 12 inches of excess material on the legs due to being a shortie. They felt heavenly on, and i spent a couple of minutes fixing up the distirbution of the ruching and tucking under the excess length. Popped on my heels and posed in the mirror.

Hmm, they looked ok.. but not as fabulous as i had hoped. They felt AMAZING on and the material was so comfortable.

Side view was pretty good, seemed to lengthen my legs out and the detailing on the sides looked cool.

Front on they were "ok" but it just looked like too much ruching and appeared to be widening my legs. I ordered the M/L and felt a little bit like i was drowning in the material, there was just so much of it and down towards the bottom of my legs they were not tight at all and there was just heaps of material and i didnt know what to do with it!!

I took a couple of photos and the flash really reflects of the material, but instead of appearing leathery like the runway rats, mine looked more like they were made of satin.

So i stayed in them for about 5 minutes umming and ahhing trying to make them look ultra hot, but it just didn't happen for me...

Considered exchanging for the S/M size instead but eventually i decided the $170 would be better spent towards the Tom Fords i have my eye on.

So my VERDICT??

The Black Rats are HOT HOT HOT if you are 6 foot tall and with a body like a whip. Or even if you are not a whip but i really think you need the height and long legs to carry these off.

I'd advise the shorter kids like me to try the Kova and T 'Oxy' leggings which come for a little bit cheaper as well. I might order these after I get a refund on the rats so will let you know how i go!>

What are your thoughts??
